We currently only deliver to UK and European Union addresses. Some products are shipped from stock, but most are delivered to you direct from the manufacturer or shipping agent to save unnecessary road miles travelled. In these instances we are dependent on the delivery methods chosen and prices charged by third parties.
A standard delivery charge (excluding insulation products see further below for information regarding this) is quoted on each product page to MAINLAND UK ADDRESSES ONLY. Deliveries to Northern Ireland, Scottish Highlands & Islands, Isle of Man and Isle of Wight are only included as standard if we ship the product(s) you select by Royal Mail, other carriers may or may not consider you as a mainland postcode. If your address is outside the standard delivery charge area and carrier we can only calculate the precise delivery charge when we know your postcode and / or country.
Customers in N Ireland - you are only considered mainland UK by Royal Mail, please select N Ireland at checkout for items that are not sent by post !
The standard delivery charge within mainland UK is mostly based on the weight of your consignment, delivery method and the value for insurance purposes. All goods are insured in transit and shipping charges are passed to you either at or below cost. The following is an indication of charges for goods shipped from stock here:-
-
Orders with a total weight less than 999g and a value below £50.00 are usually charged at £1.95 and are sent by 1st Class Royal Mail
-
Orders with a total weight between 1kg - 3kg and a value below £60.00 are usually charged at £3.95 and are sent by 1st Class Royal Mail
-
Orders weighing more than 3kg or with a total value of more than £50.00 are charged at £7.95 and sent DPD courier service (signature required).
Non-standard delivery covers anywhere OUTSIDE mainland UK, and applies to some non-Royal Mail deliveries to Northern Ireland and Scottish Highlands & Islands. The precise charge will be calculated when you enter a delivery address at checkout. If the charge is not acceptable you can always choose not to proceed with the order.

More precise shipping charges are available at checkout after you have selected the product you are interested in purchasing. PLEASE NOTE - shipping times to non-UK addresses will take longer than those quoted for mainland UK deliveries. All deliveries to non-UK addresses must be signed for on receipt.
* EU Customers please note - we do not deliver any household appliances, large items like log stores, garden equipment or most electrical appliances outside mainland UK.
Insulation products, paint and garden furniture are mostly shipped direct from the manufacturer and need individual calculation because of their greater weight and/or volume. In the short term you will need to put the item(s) into the shopping basket, proceed to checkout and give the delivery address, and the delivery charge will be calculated for you on the order summary page. If the charge is unacceptable you can always choose not to proceed with the order. In this instance simply sign out of the basket or close the browser window.

What happens if you cannot be present to accept delivery of the goods your order?
1. For small items which are too large for your letterbox, Royal Mail will put a card through your door to say delivery attempted and with further instructions to collect or redeliver your parcel.
2. For large items sent from our own warehouse, our courier DPD will put a card through your door to say delivery attempted but will automatically redeliver the following day.
3. For large items sent direct from a third party supplier it is difficult to give a standard procedure because of the number of different companies we deal with. The most common process however is for the courier to put a card through your door to say delivery attempted, and redelivery will be attempted up to 3 times before goods are returned to sender and a further charge will be made to redeliver.
4. For very large items where a specific date for delivery has been agreed and booked in advance, but you are not present as agreed, there will always be a redelivery charge.
PLEASE NOTE:- If you cannot be there to receive your order and want to give instructions to leave goods in a specific location without a signature, then please note the couriers always stipulate this is entirely at your own risk.
The above do's and don'ts always read more grimly than intended, but please call us for advice if you have particular delivery requirements as we always try to be flexible if circumstances allow.
