Delivery Information

We offer free delivery on all products to mainland UK locations (excluding insulation products, see further below for information regarding this). Deliveries to Northern Ireland, Scottish Highlands & Islands, Isle of Man and Isle of Wight are ONLY included as standard if we ship the product(s) you select by Royal Mail, otherwise it is determined by the weight and value of your consignment.  Where our standard delivery is by courier, they may or may not consider you as a mainland postcode. Any additional shipping charged based on your location will be calculated and clearly displayed in checkout once you have entered your delivery postcode.  We can only calculate the precise delivery charge when we know your exact postcode and / or country!  If you are not willing to pay any additional delivery charge you can simply choose not to proceed with your order.

We currently only deliver to UK and European Union addresses. Some products are shipped from stock, but most are delivered to you direct from the manufacturer or shipping agent to save unnecessary road miles travelled. In these instances we are dependent on the delivery methods chosen  by third parties.  Deliveries from third parties are free of charge to standard mainland UK locations, but  again their carriers may or may not consider you as a mainland postcode and we have no control over that. As before any additional shipping charged based on your location will be calculated and clearly displayed in checkout once you have entered your delivery postcode.

The following summarises our shipping :-

  • Orders with a total weight less than 3000g and a value below £50.00 are usually sent by 1st Class Royal Mail and are delivered free of charge to all UK postcodes.  Charges will apply to all other countries.

  • Orders  with a total value of more than £50.00 are usually sent by courier.  Deliveries to address with Scottish Highland & Island postcodes and to Northern Ireland, The Isle of Man, The Isles of Scilly, The Channel Islands and The Isle of Wight will incur additional shipping charges.  Charges will also apply to all other countries. The precise charge will be calculated when you enter a delivery address at checkout. If the charge is not acceptable you can always choose not to proceed with the order. 

  • Orders for appliances are delivered by specialist home delivery teams.  Deliveries to most mainland UK postcodes are free of charge, but deliveries to certain more remote areas including Scottish Highlands and Islands may attract additional charges which will be calculated when you enter your postcode at checkout.  If the charge is not acceptable you can always choose not to proceed with the order.  Sorry, we are not able to deliver some products (including all appliances) to offshore islands including Northern Ireland, and any country outside the United Kingdom.

More precise shipping charges are available at checkout after you have selected the product you are interested in purchasing. PLEASE NOTE - shipping times to non-UK addresses will take longer than those quoted for mainland UK deliveries. All deliveries to non-UK addresses must be signed for on receipt.

* EU Customers please note - we do not deliver any household appliances, other large items like log stores, garden equipment or most electrical appliances outside mainland UK.

Insulation products, paint and garden furniture are mostly shipped direct from the manufacturer and need individual calculation because of their greater weight and/or volume. For this reason we operate a specific 'quotation' process for all insulation products.

What happens if you cannot be present to accept delivery of the goods your order?
1. For small items which are too large for your letterbox, Royal Mail will put a card through your door to say delivery attempted and with further instructions to collect or redeliver your parcel.
2. For large items sent from our own warehouse here via our courier DPD, they will put a card through your door to say delivery attempted but will automatically redeliver the following day. However they do helpfully let you know the 1 hour time window during which they aim to deliver.
3. For large items sent direct from a third party supplier it is difficult to give a standard procedure because of the number of different companies we deal with. The most common process however is for the courier to put a card through your door to say delivery attempted, and redelivery will be attempted up to 3 times (depending on the courier) before goods are returned to sender and a further charge will be made to redeliver.
4. NOTE - for very large items where a specific date for delivery has been agreed and booked in advance but you are not present as agreed, there will always be a redelivery charge.

PLEASE NOTE:- If you cannot be there to receive your order and want to give instructions to leave goods in a specific location without a signature, then the courier companies always stipulate this is entirely at your own risk.
