Chimney balloon

If you have an open fire then a chimney that draws well is very important. The trouble is that it also takes the warmer air in your room up and out of the chimney stack when your fireplace is not in use and allow cold air (which sinks) back down your chimney. Have you ever noticed that cold air rushes in through the gaps in the floors, doors and windows? (maybe even down the chimney !) It can't get in unless it is going out at the same speed.

As a result in makes great sense to block your chimney when not in use and the chimney balloon or chimney pillow is a very simple, effective and flexible way of blocking chimneys when not in use. The chimney balloon stops draughts and saves wasted heat going straight up the chimney, so will pay for itself many times over as a room with a blocked chimney needs only about half the heat compared with rooms with open chimneys. Along with
heatkeeper radiator panels the chimney balloon is another one of the stunningly simply ideas that is cheap to buy, simple to use and can save you a fortune in heating costs.
Installing the chimney balloon is very easy, all you do is position your chimney ballon as described in the instructions provided, inflate it by blowing into the inflation tube or if you prefer by using an air bed pump. When you want to use the fireplace simply deflate the chimney balloon by opening the tap and then remove it. Using a chimney balloon is completely safe: if it is accidentally heated, it shrivels and deflates.

The chimney balloon is made in a special laminate of three plastics to make it airtight, tear-resistant and long-lasting so you can use it again and again. The chimney balloon design also has a special shape that allows a little ventilation on two corners to keep your chimney dry. It makes sense to fit a chimney balloon in every chimney which is not in everyday use.
