Environmental Performance
  • Heatkeeper panels can improve the efficiency of your heating by up to 20%

Heatkeeper radiator insulation panels are a simple and effective way of reducing heating costs by up to 20% and therefore cutting your carbon emission footprint, by improving the efficiency of your central heating.

The standard Heatkeeper pack contains 10 panels but you can also choose from 5, 15, 20 and 30 panel packs. Each pack includes a sufficient supply of double sided tape to stick the panels to your wall and comprehensive fitting instructions. Just select the quantity you need from the drop-down menu above. The panels themselves can be cut to suit a range of standard radiator sizes and are pre-marked to make installation a very simple DIY task.  Please note because of its extra weight the 30 pack is delivery by courier and has a higher standard delivery charge (£7.95) which will be calculated in your basket.

Heatkeeper packs contain:

  • Panels: Height 580mm x Width 450mm x Depth 8mm panels.
  • Double-sided fixing tape
  • Full installation instructions

How do Heatkeeper panels work?

Installing the Heatkeeper radiator panels improves efficiency in two ways:

  • Without insulating panels, heat is lost from behind your radiator by heating the wall and subsequent seepage through the wall to the outside. With panels installed the wall behind the radiator is insulated and the heat from the back of the radiator is directed back into the room.
  • Without the panels, heated air behind the radiator rises causing it to spin up the wall and then spread out at ceiling level - the ridged profile of the Heatkeeper panels stops the air spinning and directs warm air back into the room at body height first (see the diagrams below).

Heatkeeper panel characteristics:

  • Heatkeeper radiator insulation panels are flexible but robust. They are not themselves damaged by water, but the metallising may be impaired if stored in wet conditions.
  • Resistance to fire: Class 1 surface spread of flame when tested in accordance with BS476: Part 7: 1971, section 2. Toxicity: panels are safe to use where they would be accessible to children.
  • Installation: it is not normally necessary to remove radiators in order to fix the panels, though walls should be free of dust. The panels are secured to the wall with double-sided tape.
  • Heatkeeper radiator panels can be cut with scissors, and cut edges readily overlap horizontally and vertically to fit any size of radiator.

Independent test (BSRIA, The Scottish Energy Centre & U.K.A.E.A) indicate that fitting Heatkeeper radiator insulation panels will reduce heat cost and carbon dioxide emissions by between 8-15% depending on the wall structure of your property, giving a payback period of between 6 & 24 months.

Fitting your Heatkeeper panels:

Each pack of  energy saving radiator panels come with full, easy-to-understand fitting instructions and strong, self-adhesive, double-sided tape for secure fitting to the wall behind the radiator.

Radiator Height (mm)

Use Section Numbers

Panel Height (mm)
300 2+3 260
400 1+2+3 375
450 3+4 410
500 2+3+4 465
600 1+2+3+4 580

For radiators with greater heights than the panels, join additional sections as appropriate by taping one edge and overlapping the other segment edge. For example in the case of a 700mm high radiator you can use a full panel plus horizontal section number 1 taken from another panel to give a height of 680mm

Heatkeeper Radiator Panels 10 pack average rating: 4 out of 5 stars (based on 14 votes from 3 reviews).
Rating Great service, easy to fit, would recommend a stronger adhesive tape though

Great quick delivery and well packaged. Panels were relatively easy to fit (got easier and neater as I got more practice!). I like the design of the panels (look better than the thinner foil ones I've seen). Tape hasn't really worked on our walls...the instruction booklet does suggest stronger tape (bought separately) for some surfaces. We have freshly painted walls so not sure why this was a problem. Would recommend product. Has made a difference and delivery was so quick I would use this company again
Rating Well worth the money

I ordered a 20 pack for the house and fitted them the day that they were delivered. Not too difficult to do, took a couple of hours maybe three to do the 9 radiators in the house. They work really well, I have turned a few rads down and the others are hotter should I need them to be. They should be fitted as std in every house. Simple but brilliant.

What a great idea; easy to fit and had them in place for a couple of weeks now and have already been able to notice the difference. Looking forward to my next heating bill to see how much I've saved. Definitely saved already by buying them from Green & easy - great price and next day delivery what more can you ask for
