Siemens 60cm Induction hob

The Siemens EH675ME31E 60cm induction hob is an IQ500 series hob finished in elegant black glass with stainless steel trim.  This model has 4 cooking zones with touchSlider controls and is packed with innovative features including automatic pan recognition, infra-red power sensor levels and frying sensor. Please read on below to learn about the features of this fantastic induction hob in more detail and to review the full technical specification.

The Siemens EH675ME13E is backed by the manufacturers 2 year warranty and you can find a diagram with the installation requirements in the additional images section by scrolling down this page.

Siemens Innovative touchSlider function: is the latest unique, innovative operating concept from Siemens. Operation is very similar to a touchpad on a laptop: just lightly slide your finger across the touchSlider temperature scale to the desired setting – control advances in half-levels from 1 to 9 – and the cooking zone will start to heat up. You can also touch the desired level directly for faster adjustments to the cooking zone temperature. All the 60cm models are controlled with one single 9.5cm monoSlider control, while the extra wide models have four or five 8cm multiSlider controls.

Siemens  infra-red cooking sensor:  these Infra-red sensors are mounted on retractable columns at the rear of the hob and can monitor the rear two cook zones, measuring the temperature of the contents of the pans* and relaying the information to the hob’s electronics> This allows the temperature to be accurately maintained at the correct level, automatically. Rather than power levels, the sensor hob offers up to five pre-defined temperatures, each suitable for different types of food. And the sensor control means no boiling over, no overcooking, burning or oil overheating. It saves energy too, because only the exact amount of energy is used. And did you know that you can save as much as 80% of the energy used by cooking with the lid on the pan?
*Normal pans can be used with the special easy to apply bands supplied with the hob

The fryingSensor: Choose a temperature level, and the fryingSensor from Siemens heat the pan until the desired temperature is reach, when an audible tone sounds. This means the oil or butter is never allowed to overheat, so it’s of course safer, and there’s no overcooking, no smoking pans. All you have to do is put the food in the pan and the sensor continously monitors the temperature of the contents of the pan keeping it steady and freeing you to get on with other things. It saves energy, because only exactly the required amount of energy is used. And the lining of your pan will last longer, too! There are also 9 preset programmes, including programmesfor chicken breast, steak, fish, fried vegetables and egg, that make perfect frying a breeze.

Control panel pause: At the touch of a button, the control panel is locked for a short period during which time the panel can be wiped clean without inadvertently altering any settings. Press the button again to reactivate the hob, alternatively the hob will automatically reactivate after around 35 seconds.

Automatic pan recognition: Our intelligent pan recognition feature means that the hob will only operate if it recognises the pan is in place, ignoring other ferrous objects like, for instance, a discarded spoon.

Residual heat indicators: Most models feature a two-stage residual heat indicator for each cooking zone – an LED that shows ‘H’ when the zones are still hot enough to finish off cooking, and ‘h’ when there is not enough heat to
cook, but still enough for caution - perfect for keeping food warm.

Timer: Most Siemens hobs feature a timer that can be used in 2 ways: as an independent timer (that sounds a signal at the end of the cooking time), or set to automatically switch off the cooking zone at the end of the cooking time.

Siemens Induction hobs
Extra description

How do induction hobs work?  Induction is recognised as being one of the most energy efficient, quickest and safest methods of cooking available. When a pan with a ferrous or magnetic metal base is placed on the hob, the coil situated below the ceramic surface creates a powerful electromagnetic field, which induces a current and generates heat almost instantly directly into the pan. In effect the pan becomes the heating element and only the base of the pan is heated; the cooking zone itself stays cool.
